Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song
July-August 2025 in The Listening Room at Hamilton Studio
In our inaugural season, we had the honor of bringing Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song to Spokane for the very first time. It was a project that meant the world to us: the kind of show that asks big questions about love, family, and the courage it takes to live honestly…even when the world says no.
For us, Torch Song wasn’t just a play. It was a reminder of why we do theater in the first place. It pushed us, moved us, and brought people together in a place aptly called The Listening Room in a way we’ll never forget.
We’re so proud of this one, and so grateful to everyone who came along for the ride.

Duncan Macmillan’s Every Brilliant Thing
February-March 2025 in The Listening Room at Hamilton Studio
In early 2025, we opened our very first production as Theater on the Verge with Every Brilliant Thing. It was the kind of story that felt right for our beginning: direct, funny, unguarded, and built around the simple, everyday things that keep people tethered to the world. Doug Dawson led the piece with Troy Nickerson directing, creating a space that shifted and responded to the audience every single night.
The response was more than we could’ve hoped for. The entire run at The Listening Room sold out quickly, and when we added another weekend, those seats disappeared too.
Every Brilliant Thing brought people together, filled that room with an energy we’ll never forget, and showed us exactly the kind of work we wanted to put into the world.
